Original Item: Only One Available. This is a very interesting example of a Model 1917 C.T. Bolo knife, manufactured by hard to find maker American Cutlery Company of Chicago, Illinois. This model was a moderate simplification of the earlier 1910 Bolo made by Springfield Armory. The main difference is the lack of the catch mechanism on the scabbard and grip. It was manufactured by contractors such as Plumb and American Cutlery Co. of Chicago. The blade ricasso on this example is clearly marked:

Blade and ricasso are in good shape, though this bolo knife definitely has seen use, and has had the crossguard repaired at some point. The blade has been cleaned a lot, which has removed almost all of the original black finish. It now has a lovely stained patina, which continues onto the hilt. The blade has been sharpened several times, and the profile is a bit different than original, which had part of the edge only ground from one side.
The crossguard looks to have broken at some point, and then was welded back together. It does still have the correct hole in it, which is good, since it actually is fitted with…
